Don’t see the right fit?
Apply to our Relief & Recovery Orientation Course
Medair’s Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) is a one-week simulation course that will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair. After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.
What we look for
Highly experienced professionals with compassionate hearts
We are looking for compassionate leaders to work worldwide in our country programmes and at our various Headquarters. When you work with Medair, you have the unique chance to apply your training and skills in a way that aligns with your values and convictions. Here are the areas of expertise we regularly look for.
Senior Management
At Medair, we are fundamentally about people. That’s why our Senior Management staff are first and foremost servant leaders committed to living out our core values and providing spiritual leadership to their teams. They are also experienced leaders with previous humanitarian and intercultural overseas work experience who are highly skilled at managing and motivating diverse teams under tight budgets to ensure the highest quality standards.
Information Technology Services
Our Global Information Technology Services (GITS) department supports our field teams and Global Support Office by providing software, tools, and technology services that meet their unique needs. Our ITS staff often work in difficult contexts where infrastructure is underdeveloped or nonexistent. Together, they continue to implement new technologies that enable our field teams to deliver services more effectively and efficiently.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Our Monitoring & Evaluation teams play an integral role in ensuring our teams delivery only the highest quality aid. They are responsible for gathering and analysing project data, reporting on programmatic successes, and defining areas for improvement. They also regularly train staff in how to effectively gather qualitative and quantitative data and analyse the results.
Project Support
Project Support roles are available predominantly in our field programmes and occasionally at the Global Support Office. Our Project Support Staff play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our field bases and projects. These roles typically include a mix of responsibilities in the areas of logistics, human resources, finance, and in-country security, and require a high-level of organisation and planning.
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Nothing is perhaps more critical during emergencies than providing safe drinking water and sanitation. That’s why our WASH teams prioritise restoring these vital services for communities devastated by disaster or conflict. We also bring safe drinking water to communities where there is none, repair water points, build latrines, and teach people about healthy hygiene practices in particularly vulnerable or hard-to-reach places.
Shelter & Infrastructure
When disasters strike and conflicts force people from their homes, providing safe shelter is critical to protecting survivors and setting them on a path towards recovery. We provide immediate shelter to people affected by emergencies and work hand-in-hand with communities to help them build back better, restore community facilities and infrastructure, and safeguard themselves against future disasters.
