Yes. Medair recognises the psychological toll of working in humanitarian crises and provides wellbeing support for its staff, including access to counselling and peer support systems. Staff care is an organisational priority and is integrated into Medair's duty of care framework.

Medair maintains strict safeguarding and protection policies and requires all staff and volunteers to adhere to a comprehensive Code of Conduct. Medair has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) and maintains confidential feedback and complaint mechanisms for beneficiaries to report concerns safely.

If you wish to work in one of our country programmes, but do not see an open position that fits your qualifications at this time, you can also apply directly to our Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) for consideration for future in-country positions.

We require those who work in our country programmes to have previous professional experience and be able to make a one-year commitment to the role assigned. Therefore, we do not offer internships in our country programmes, but would welcome you to apply upon completing your studies and gaining some further professional experience.

Given the challenging contexts we work in, it is important that our staff be familiar and comfortable in their jobs before joining one of our country programmes. Therefore, we require our country programmes staff to have a minimum of one year’s work experience specific to their profession and/or studies.

In the case of someone who has just completed their studies, but has extensive previous experience through internships, we may make an exception on a case-by-case basis. You can learn more here about the essential criteria we look for in order to work in our country programmes.

While our staff worldwide speak a multitude of languages, English is our unifying language within which we work together as a whole. Therefore, Medair requires that international staff who do not speak English as their first language possess 1st certificate-level English proficiency to work in our country programmes.

Medair operates community-based feedback and accountability mechanisms in all its country programmes, allowing affected people to raise concerns, complaints, or suggestions. Beneficiary voices are integrated into programme design and review processes in line with the CHS commitments.
