Project Support roles are available predominantly in our field programmes and occasionally at the Global Support Office. Our Project Support Staff play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our field bases and projects. These roles typically include a mix of responsibilities in the areas of logistics, human resources, finance, and in-country security, and require a high-level of organisation and planning.

We look for experienced professionals who...

  • Hold a higher-level degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in the areas of Management, Development Studies, Business Administration or another relevant subject
  • Have previous experience working in a cross-cultural environment (preferably a development or emergency context) supervising others, coaching and training staff, and writing reports
  • Have strong numerical, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Possess training and skills in project management, budget management, and people managementespecially the training and empowering of other staff

ROC Required
Support the country programme with a focus on MEAL* ( 50%), mainly for Health & Nutrition programmes, while also developing the Emergency Shelter (ES) / NFI and Cash & Voucher assistance (CVA) capacity and identifying opportunities.

Project Support Officer

ROC Required
Coordinate and manage the main support functions including general administration, base management, finance, human resources, logistics and security, with line management responsibility for staff involved in support roles on base/or sub-base. The Project Support Officer can also represent Medair at relevant meetings with contractors, local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Project Support Manager (Roving)

ROC Required
The Roving Project Support Manager is key to the efficient and effective running of operations in the area to which they are assigned. This varied and challenging role involves covering for the support functions including the Project Support Manager, Human Resources Manager, Logistics Manager and Finance Manager. More specifically, this will involve coordinating and managing the main support functions including general administration, base management, finance, human resources, logistics and security. With line management responsibility for staff involved in support roles. In the absence of the Project Coordinator, the Roving Project Support Manager also represents Medair at relevant meetings with contractors, local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Medair’s Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) is a one-week simulation course that will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair. After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.
