Emergency Forgotten Crises

In eastern DR Congo, Yemen and the Chad region, our country programmes are at the limits of their capacity. We are fighting to maintain these programmes.

Let’s act now to relieve those who suffer in silence

Our commitment, our independence to act and our ability to respond to urgent humanitarian crises remain unchanged. Your generosity will provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to communities in crisis around the world and bring real and lasting change to people’s lives.

Around the world today, there are regions in crisis and populations suffering that urgently need our help. The media have deserted them and public attention may have shifted elsewhere, but these “forgotten crises” remain an absolute reality and conceal unspeakable humanitarian tragedies.

At Medair, we don’t forget the men, women and children who have been abandoned by everyone.

But some of our programs are saturated or about to close:

In the east of the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

Our Shari health center is overcrowded and, with almost 45,000 patients, the teams are calling for reinforcements.

In YEMEN

10 clinics were closed in 2023 for lack of funding, and 9 others are likely to close if no donor intervenes.

In CHAD

More than 600,000 people are fleeing the conflict in Sudan and finding refuge in crowded camps in Chad region, where drinking water and food are in danger of running out.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,”

said the philosopher, Edmund Burke.

Let’s not stand idly by; let’s do good and bring hope!

The Sudan crisis: how Medair is stepping in

In the heart of Sudan's turmoil, Medair delivers hope and essentials to displaced families.

The world's largest displacement crisis

On 15th April 2023, civil war broke out in Sudan between two rival factions of the military government of Sudan, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Interview with Marian in D.R. Congo

Congo is experiencing one of the most neglected crises of our time. The situation is Congo has been one of conflict for decades now, so people think things are at a status-quo, but since November ’22 and then again since February ’23, there has been fighting on such a significant scale that we’re now close to 1 million newly displaced people (IDPs) in the province of North Kivu, where Medair works from the bases in Goma and in Butembo.
