Our appeal: Amna's story

In Sudan, years of fighting have torn communities apart.
Before the conflict, Amna, whose name has been changed for security reasons, lived a happy life with her family in a once thriving city in Khartoum State. But when violence reached their community, their world was suddenly upended. Amna and her family faced an impossible choice: stay, and risk their lives, or run - leaving behind everything they owned.
The family fled to a temporary shelter, but when Amna’s one-year-old son, Kamal, became seriously ill, she wondered how they’d afford the vital healthcare he needed.
Thankfully, she heard of a Medair health clinic nearby, where medical treatment is free.
Listen to our appeal on BBC Radio 4 to hear how our team in Sudan helped Amna and Kamal, and how you can help provide life-saving help to other families like theirs.

"Life remains uncertain for thousands of families across Sudan just like Amna’s. Please give what you can today to help Medair continue to save lives."
