Actively participate to develop, support, monitor and evaluate the country emergency nutrition project(s), support the heath project managers in managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget with a focus on response to new crises requiring assessments and short-term interventions. Provide technical support, leadership and strategic direction, other important aspects of the role include managing and training nutrition staff to meet international quality standards, strength the nutrition sector in the existing program and work towards standardising nutrition programming in all Medair bases. Experienced in donor relationships, the Country Technical Advisor provides strategic orientation, support, monitoring, review and evaluation of some aspects of the MDG programme, in one or more sectors such as Climate, DRM-DRR (Disaster Risk Management – Disaster Risk Reduction), WASH, Shelter-Infrastructure and CASH assistance. He/ she plays a key role in strategic thinking and programme implementation, helping the Sr management in securing funding and enhancing its stability (target: $500k-$1m per year), which includes advice to the PFM on potential donors and partnerships, and technical support to proposal writing, project implementation and reporting, also improving its quality. The Country Technical Advisor brings a solid contribution for better impact for beneficiaries through improved quality and exit strategies – more sustainable and in partnership with private actors – analyses of medium and long-term sustainability of Medair realisations of the last 3 years and make suggestions on how to restore/ revalorise failures could be envisaged.

De oriëntatiecursus voor noodhulp en herstel (ROC) van Medair is een simulatiecursus van een week die helpt vast te stellen of een humanitaire loopbaan bij Medair bij je past en of jij bij Medair past. Na deelname aan de cursus kom je in een pool van gekwalificeerde kandidaten die klaar staan om opgeroepen te worden voor noodhulpacties. Wanneer er behoefte ontstaat in onze landenprogramma's, bieden we je een functie aan die aansluit bij jouw competenties en onze behoeften. Als je solliciteert naar een internationale functie, is deelname aan de ROC verplicht om in onze landenprogramma's te mogen werken.

Hoe solliciteer ik op een vacature?

Als er een actuele vacature is die je interesseert en je voldoet aan de kwalificaties, dan kun je rechtstreeks via ons online portaal solliciteren. Zodra ons team je sollicitatie succesvol heeft ontvangen, zullen we je kwalificaties en ervaring bekijken en je op tijd laten weten of we verder zullen gaan met je sollicitatie.

Als je wilt werken in een van onze landenprogramma's, maar op dit moment geen openstaande functie ziet die bij je kwalificaties past, dan kun je ook rechtstreeks solliciteren naar deelname aan onze Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) om in aanmerking te komen voor toekomstige functies in het land.

Kan ik stage lopen of vrijwilligerswerk doen bij Medair?

We verwachten van degenen die in onze landenprogramma's werken dat ze relevante ervaring hebben en zich voor één jaar aan de functie kunnen verbinden. Daarom bieden we geen stages aan in onze landenprogramma's, maar nodigen je uit om te solliciteren nadat je je studie hebt afgerond en enige ervaring hebt opgedaan.

We bieden echter soms stages aan bij ons internationale hoofdkantoor in Zwitserland of op ons kantoor in Nederland. Ook zijn hier vrijwilligers hartelijk welkom om onze verschillende teams te ondersteunen. Klik hier om meer te weten te komen over vrijwilligerswerk bij ons.

Kan ik solliciteren als ik geen ervaring heb in de humanitaire sector?

Gezien de uitdagende contexten waarin we werken, is het belangrijk dat ons personeel vertrouwd is en zich comfortabel voelt in hun functies voordat ze aan een van onze landenprogramma's deelnemen. Daarom vereisen we van ons personeel in de landenprogramma's minimaal één jaar werkervaring die specifiek is voor hun beroep en/of studie. Heb je net je studie afgerond en heb je al wel stage-ervaring, dan kunnen we kijken welke mogelijkheden we hebben. Je kunt hier meer lezen over de eisen die we stellen voor het werken in onze landenprogramma's.

Zijn er specifieke taalvereisten voor het werken bij Medair?

Hoewel ons personeel wereldwijd een veelvoud aan talen spreekt, is Engels onze verbindende taal waarbinnen we als geheel samenwerken. We vragen daarom om een goede beheersing van de Engelse taal.
