Medair is een internationale noodhulporganisatie die lijden verlicht op enkele van de meest afgelegen en ontwrichte plaatsen ter wereld. We bereiken mensen in verwaarloosde gemeenschappen die getroffen zijn door natuurrampen, conflicten en andere crises. Zo helpen we mensen weer op eigen benen te staan en vaardigheden te ontwikkelen die nodig hebben om een betere toekomst op te bouwen.
Medair Nederland heeft als doel het ondersteunen en bijdragen aan humanitaire hulp in nood- en herstelsituaties door: communicatie, fondsenwerving, werving veldwerkers, gebed en andere activiteiten die deze doelstelling ondersteunen. Medair Nederland ondersteunt ten volle de kernwaarden van Medair in ons werk in Nederland.
Medair Nederland is opgericht op 3 juni 1998 en is een onafhankelijke Nederlandse stichting met een kantoor in Amersfoort. Medair Nederland is verbonden met Medair Zwitserland door het ondertekenen van de Affiliate Agreement en Medair Brand Agreement.

Hoe respecteren we uw privacy?
Medair respecteert uw privacy en belooft passende maatregelen te nemen om uw persoonsgegevens te beschermen. De Medair-waarden integriteit en verantwoording zijn leidend bij de zorg voor uw persoonsgegevens. Uw persoonsgegevens worden door deze onafhankelijke derde partijen uitsluitend gedeeld met ons wanneer u aangegeven heeft dat u Medair wilt ondersteunen. We kunnen informatie die u ons verstrekt combineren met informatie uit publieke bronnen om meer inzicht te krijgen in de mensen die ons ondersteunen en met ons in contact komen. Publieke bronnen kunnen ondermeer zijn: overheidswebsites, biografische registers en mediaorganisaties. Dit helpt ons bij het verbeteren van fondsenwerving, werving van nieuwe medewerkers en het opstellen van programma’s.
Bijzonder persoonsgegevens
Bepaalde categorieën persoonlijke informatie zijn meer gevoelig. Deze gevoelige of bijzondere persoonsgegevens zijn ondermeer gezondheidsinformatie, ras, etniciteit, religieuze en politieke overtuigingen. We kunnen gevoelige gegevens over u verzamelen als daar een wettelijke basis voor is of indien u hier expliciet toestemming voor heeft gegeven. Reden hiervoor kan bijvoorbeeld zijn het registreren van uw religieuze betrokkenheid om ervoor te zorgen dat we op gepaste wijze met u communiceren.
Persoonsgegevens van kinderen
Als u zich registreert voor een evenement, een gift geeft, zich aanmeldt als vrijwilliger of op andere wijze met Medair in contact treedt, dan verklaart u dat u minimaal 18 jaar bent of dat u goedkeuring hebt van uw ouder of verzorger. Gegevens van kinderen onder 18 jaar zullen nooit worden opgeslagen zonder toestemming van de ouders/verzorgers.
Hoe gebruiken we uw persoonsgegevens?
We kunnen uw persoonsgegevens op de volgende manieren gebruiken:
– om giften die we van u ontvangen te verwerken en u daarvoor te bedanken
– om u programma-updates en berichten over fondsenwerving te sturen
– om ons contact met u te registreren
– om u uit te nodigen voor deelname aan onderzoeken of om feedback te geven

– om onze diensten te analyseren en te verbeteren

Wanneer en met wie delen wij uw persoonlijke gegevens?
Stichting Medair Nederland zal nooit uw persoonsgegevens verkopen of delen met derden voor hun eigen gebruik.
Stichting Medair Nederland deelt gegevens met partijen die een service voor ons uitvoeren, bijvoorbeeld bedrijven welke ons helpen onze website te beheren, financiële transacties te verwerken en om onze afdelingen voor personeelszaken en fondsenwerving te ondersteunen. Wij dragen er zorg voor dat, indien nodig, met deze bedrijven een verwerkersovereenkomst wordt afgesloten welke voldoet aan de eisen van de AVG.
Tevens deelt Stichting Medair Nederland gegevens met partijen waartoe een juridische verplichting bestaat (bv de Belastingdienst)
Waar slaan we uw persoonsgegevens op?
Uw persoonlijke informatie wordt opgeslagen op beveiligde servers op onze kantoren en/of op offsite- en cloudservers. Ook kunnen we informatie op papier opslaan.
Stichting Medair Nederland maakt deel uit van een internationale organisatie met een hoofdkantoor in Zwitserland. Sommige gegevens (bijvoorbeeld sollicitaties) worden verwerkt in Zwitserland. Ondanks het feit dat Zwitserland geen lid is van de EU, wordt het land door de EU erkend als veilig m.b.t. het niveau van data protection.
Sommige persoonlijke informatie die u ons verstrekt kan namens ons worden opgeslagen of verwerkt door derden en kan zich in rechtsgebieden bevinden waar de wetgeving afwijkt van die in uw rechtsgebied. In die gevallen spannen wij ons in om passende beschermingsmaatregelen te treffen om uw persoonsgegevens te beveiligen in overeenstemming met de van toepassing zijnde wetgeving voor gegevensbescherming.
Hoe beschermen we uw persoonsgegevens?
De veiligheid van de persoonsgegevens in ons bezit is voor ons zeer belangrijk. We onderkennen het belang van deze verantwoordelijkheid en we nemen passende technische en organisatorische maatregelen om uw persoonsgegevens te beschermen tegen verlies, misbruik of wijziging. Bijvoorbeeld, we versleutelen onze online formulieren, bewaken ons netwerk routinematig tegen datalekken en gebruiken certificaten volgens de industrienorm TLS (Transport Layer Security).
Desondanks is de overdracht van informatie via het internet of andere kanalen nooit absoluut veilig. Hoewel we passende voorzorgsmaatregelen treffen om persoonsgegevens te beschermen, kunnen we de veiligheid van informatie die naar onze website wordt overgedragen niet garanderen. Iedere overdracht vindt daarom plaats op uw eigen risico. Gegevens van betaalkaarten die we op onze website ontvangen worden veilig overgedragen aan onze betalingsverwerker volgens de Payment Card Industry Security Standards. Tenzij u ons toestemming heeft gegeven om uw bank- of creditcardgegevens te bewaren, worden uw gegevens veilig vernietigd na verwerking van uw donatie.
Hoe lang bewaren we uw persoonsgegevens?
We bewaren uw informatie zo lang als nodig of wettelijk vereist is. Bijvoorbeeld, onder Nederlandse belastingwetgeving bewaart Medair donatiegegevens gedurende tenminste 7 jaar. We bewaren uw creditcard- of bankgegevens niet tenzij u ons daarvoor toestemming heeft gegeven. Als u verzoekt om verder geen contact van onze kant, dan houden we enige basisinformatie over u in ons register om te voorkomen dat we u in de toekomst ongewenste informatie sturen. Die gegevens worden geminimaliseerd zodat we alleen het noodzakelijke bewaren. Wanneer uw informatie niet langer vereist is, zullen we ervoor zorgen dat het op veilige wijze wordt vernietigd.
Wat is de wettelijke grondslag voor het verzamelen en gebruiken van persoonsgegevens?
Organisaties hebben een wettelijke basis (grondslag) nodig voor het verzamelen en gebruiken van persoonsgegevens. De huidige wetgeving kent zes grondslagen waarop persoonsgegevens verwerkt mogen worden (en aanvullende manieren voor gevoelige persoonsgegevens). Drie van deze manieren zijn relevant voor de verzameling en het gebruik van persoonsgegevens door Medair:
– een persoon heeft toestemming gegeven (bijvoorbeeld om direct marketing per e-mail of sms te ontvangen)
– verwerking die noodzakelijk is om te voldoen aan een overeenkomst of wettelijke verplichting (om een afschrijving of automatische incasso te verwerken)
– onze legitieme belangen (zie hieronder voor meer informatie)
Persoonsgegevens mogen wettelijk verzameld en gebruikt worden indien er een legitiem belang is dat niet in strijd is met uw grondrechten en vrijheden. Onze legitieme belangen zijn ondermeer:
– voldoen aan regelgeving (waaronder financiële rapportage en andere nalevingsdoeleinden)
– administratie en operationeel management (waaronder antwoorden op verzoeken, bieden van informatie en diensten, onderzoek, evenementen, administratie van vrijwilligers en eisen aangaande dienstverband en werving)
– fondsenwerving (waaronder beheren van campagnes en donaties, versturen van direct marketing en bedankbrieven per post)

Wat zijn uw rechten?
Wetgeving voor gegevensbescherming geeft u onder omstandigheden bepaalde rechten. U heeft het recht om inzage in uw persoonsgegevens te verzoeken. U heeft het recht uw persoonsgegevens te laten corrigeren of wissen, bezwaar te maken tegen verwerking of de toegang te beperken. Deze website is eigendom van Medair. Iedereen die gebruik maakt van medair.org/nl – voor welke doeleinden dan ook – gaat akkoord met onderstaande voorwaarden en bepalingen.

Donaties
Een donatie kan bestaand uit een geld bedrag of uit goederen of diensten. Een donatie is altijd vrijblijvend. Bij een donatie is het aan de donateur aan te geven voor welk, door de stichting gedefinieerde, doelen de donatie gebruikt zal worden.
De donateur heeft geen recht op teruggave van gedoneerde gelden en materialen. Het herroepingsrecht is niet van toepassing.

Sensitive personal data
Certain categories of personal information are more sensitive. This is known as sensitive or special category personal data and covers health information, race and ethnicity, and religious and political opinions amongst other categories. We will only collect sensitive data about you if there is a proper and legal reason to do so. Such reasons may include conducting appropriate checks on job applicants to match your application profile appropriately to the relevant role, or being aware of any health concerns in relation to working in a humanitarian environment. We may also take note of your religious affiliation to ensure we send you the most appropriate communications.
Personal data of children
When you register for an event, make a donation, sign up to volunteer or interact with Medair in any other way, you are stating that you are 18 years of age or older or are acting with the consent of your parent or guardian. When we collect personal data about someone under 18 years of age, we will make it clear why we are collecting this information and how it will be used.
If you are under 18 and would like to get involved with us or make a donation, please make sure that you have your parent or guardian’s permission before giving us your personal information.
For application purposes for the field, it is necessary to collect data about children in order to make good decisions around placement of staff in humanitarian environments.
How do we use your personal data?
We may use your personal data in the following ways:
– to process and acknowledge our gratitude for donations we receive from you

We will not retain your credit card or bank account information unless you have given us permission to do so. If you request to receive no further contact from us, we’ll keep some basic information about you on our suppression list to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future. Such information will be minimised to ensure we only keep what is necessary. When your information is no longer required we will ensure that it is disposed of in a secure manner.
