Ze werken onder uitdagende omstandigheden. Hun taak is om zoveel mogelijk levens te redden in noodsituaties en het risico op ziekten en aandoeningen in de nasleep van rampen te verminderen.   • opgeleid zijn als arts, verpleegkundige, verloskundige, psycholoog, psychiatrisch verpleegkundige, sociaal werker of voedingsdeskundige..
  • ervaring hebben in basisgezondheidszorg, internationale gezondheidszorg, tropische geneeskunde, nutrion programma’s en/of gezondheidseducatie.
  • Have experience in primary health care, international public health, tropical medicine, community nutrition and medicine, and/or health education.

Health & Nutrition Project Manager

Starting Date / Initial Contract Details As soon as possible 2026. Full time, 8 months (with possible extension). Role Summary Develop and lead the assigned health and nutrition (H&N) projects, with support from sector advisors and Project Coordinator. Manage project activities in line with the objectives, time frame and budget with a focus on health system strengthening, training, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Provide technical support and leadership to meet quality and accountability standards and pursue the development of new funding opportunities. Project Overview Medair Sudan is a complex and dynamic country programme due to instability related to conflict. Medair returned to Sudan in 2020 and is currently implementing multi-sectoral projects in health, nutrition, WASH and Shelter/NFI and CVA in vulnerable communities. There are plans to expand the current programme into new areas, as well as growing and strengthening local partnerships. Workplace & Conditions Field based position in El Geniena, West Darfur, Sudan, with basic living conditions. Key Activity Areas • Provide strong leadership of the assigned H&N project teams. Manage the assigned H&N project(s) to meet the project objectives within budget and within the allotted time frame and report promptly any operational concerns to line manager and in-country H&N advisor. Identify and pursue new project and funding opportunities to expand programming in the targeted geographical areas and sectors • Continuously monitor and supervise H&N activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data, to ensure projects are implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with Medair, donor, country and international standards • Provide leadership with the health, nutrition, logistics and finance staff to ensure items are procured, transported, stored, managed and accounted for correctly. • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, represent Medair in meetings and networks; facilitate partnerships, and respond to evolving project needs effectively. • Ensure correct and timely reporting of activities according to Medair, donor and time frames and formats. This job description covers the main tasks that are anticipated. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary. Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies • University degree in a relevant subject, preferably nutrition or public health. • 2 years' experience working in a health/nutrition programme in a developing country, preferably in an insecure context. • Proficient in English (spoken and written); Arabic language desirable. • Good computer, numerical, report writing and administration skills. Problem solving ability. • Knowledge of Humanitarian Essentials, Sphere and HAP Standards and other humanitarian guidelines and protocols. Behavioural Skills • Committed to team-building and able to develop, coach and support other team members. • Problem-solving ability, and good negotiation and communication skills. • Able to oversee multiple tasks, prioritising and delegating as required. • Self-motivated, energetic, hard-working, servant hearted.

After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.
