Q. Why does Swiss Solidarity work with Medair?

We choose our partners carefully, ensuring that they have the expertise and capacity to act effectively in crisis contexts, and that they respect fundamental humanitarian principles such as humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. Medair shares our commitment to rapid, targeted, and sustainable humanitarian aid. Thanks to its experience, Medair is able to intervene where needs are most urgent, providing solutions adapted to local realities.

Q. Have you visited a Medair project?

I’ve visited Medair projects on several occasions, including in Türkiye after the 2023 earthquake. What impressed me was the responsiveness and commitment of the teams on site. In such a difficult context, they were able to provide concrete solutions: shelter construction, access to drinking water and food, health care. Their approach is both effective and humane, in consultation with local communities.

Q. Would you recommend Medair to donors?

Medair is a solid organization that responds to crises with professionalism and humanity. It does essential work in the field, intervening in particularly difficult areas, sometimes far from the media spotlight, such as in Sudan.

Q. Which Medair projects are currently supported by Swiss Solidarity?

We support a number of Medair programmes in acute crisis situations, notably in Lebanon, Sudan, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Syria. These projects meet people’s essential needs: access to drinking water, health care, and support for displaced persons. Our common goal is to bring rapid, effective aid to those who need it most.

Medair is a Swiss humanitarian relief and reconstruction organisation.  For 35 years, our mission has been to save lives and relieve suffering in the world’s most remote and devastated places. *
