Role Summary
The Project Support Manager (PSM) is key to the efficient and effective running of the programme. This role manages Finance, HR, Logistics, Liaison and Administrative team members, activities and processes; coaching teams in Medair systems and ensures that support systems are properly set up for working with local partners.
Project Overview
Medair’s program in Madagascar provides support to people affected by conflict, disease and disaster by providing basic services including health, nutrition and WASH.
Workplace & Conditions
Ambovombe or Beloha, Great South of Madagascar. The role will mainly be office-based in Beloha, but with trips to remote field sites where living and working conditions will likely be more basic.
Responsibilities:
• Management of finance systems, ensuring appropriate transaction processing, financial liquidity, budget adherence, transparent processes, and compliance with Medair and donor guidelines.
• Providing technical management to ensure that logistics procedures for procurement, supply chain, fleet and asset management are in place and being maintained in compliance with Medair standards.
• Management of HR activities, in accordance with Medair policies and Madagascar labor laws. Line manage and develop support staff, overseeing recruitment, performance, and training to foster a cohesive, competent team.
• Coordinate with suppliers and government entities, representing Medair and building cooperative relationships.
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:
- University degree in Management, Finance, Business Administration or Development Studies
- Strong working knowledge of English and French (spoken and written)
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role, in developing countries or emergency response settings
- 3 years post-qualification professional experience in a relevant field on finance, logistics, human resources, analytical, and report writing skills
- Computer literate with very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
