"While global humanitarian needs grew in 2024, institutional aid funding decreased. We knew there was potential for future declines, but no one predicted the severity of cuts that would occur at the start of 2025. Navigating these difficult times, Medair has focused on preserving our mandate and responding to the most life-saving needs, which aligns well with our new strategy.
People are at the heart of our work. As we engage with people who are profoundly suffering in humanitarian crises, it is in the spaces between us, as we express care for one another and recognise each other’s dignity, that hope begins to rise in the midst of despair, joy in the midst of grief, and beauty in the midst of brokenness."
