Emergency in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing violent conflict and need life-saving assistance. The time to help is now.

Be a lifeline to people living in crisis.

Since the escalation of violence on 21st January, we have seen hundreds of thousands of people in the eastern DR Congo fleeing for their lives - many are seeking refuge in overcrowded, unsanitary displacement camps where they are at risk from life-threatening infectious diseases like cholera and mpox. They urgently need safe water, medical care and children need nutrition treatment. Please join with us to send urgent help today.

‘Take my child! I want him to stay alive!’

This is the heart-rending cry that a mother made to one of our team members last week in a refugee camp in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Violence and insecurity have reached unbearable levels in this region, which has already been ravaged by conflict for many years.

Since the escalation of violence on 21st January, we have seen hundreds of thousands of people fleeing for their lives - many are seeking refuge in overcrowded, unsanitary displacement camps where they are at risk from life-threatening infectious diseases like cholera and mpox.

In Goma, the situation has reached a critical level as hospitals and health facilities have been saturated by the influx of wounded people, and essential services - such as electricity and clean water - are disrupted. Cases of cholera have already been reported in the city.

We need your help now more than ever.

Our teams are on the ground actively providing medical care, nutrition treatment and safe water, sanitation and hygiene solutions. However, the scale of the crisis demands immediate action.

Together, we can bring life and hope.
