Role Summary

The Health & MHPSS Project Manager oversees Medair’s health and psychosocial support activities in northern Ukraine, ensuring alignment with objectives, timeframe, budget, and international standards. Responsibilities include project implementation, coordination, reporting, staff management, and training, while collaborating with other departments and advisors. The role also involves stakeholder coordination, strategy input, proposal development, and integrated programming.

Project Overview

Medair started programming in Ukraine at the end of February 2022 and are providing WASH, Health, NFI/Shelter, MHPSS, and other emergency assistance in parts of Ukraine.

Workplace & Conditions

Field position based in Northern Ukraine, with frequent travel to the different health and MHPSS project locations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design, planning, budgeting, and execution of health and MHPSS projects, ensuring alignment with donor and organizational standards.

• Train, mentor, and supervise staff, fostering ownership, performance, and well-being.

• Collect, analyse, and report accurate programme data; conduct field visits to oversee service delivery and quality.

• Manage logistics, administration, and finances; represent the organization in external stakeholder meetings and partnerships.

• Monitor evolving needs, recommend program adjustments, and support learning through feedback and evaluation processes.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:

• Medical doctor or nurse; degree in psychology, global mental health, or social work preferred with

2–3 years’ NGO project management experience in health/MHPSS programs

• Skilled in numeracy, reporting, and administration

• Strong problem‑solving abilities

• Experienced in program design, monitoring, and evaluation

• Fluent in English; Ukrainian language an asset

• Able to prioritise clearly and oversee multiple tasks. Able to take initiative in project decisions.

• Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner, with a good understanding of cross-cultural issues.

• Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels.
