Role Summary

The Programme Support Manager (PRSM) is key to the efficient and effective running of the country programme. This role manages Finance, HR, Logistics, Liaison and Administrative team members, activities and processes; coaches teams in Medair systems and processes; and ensures that support systems are properly set up for working with partners in Darfur.

Project Overview

The purpose of Medair’s programme in Sudan is to save lives and alleviate human suffering amongst Sudanese refugees in camps, and vulnerable host communities in the east of Tchad.

Medair’s programme in Sudan provides support to people affected by conflict, disease and disaster by providing basic services including health, nutrition, WASH, shelter, cash and more.

Workplace & Conditions

This role is based at the main country office in Sudan, with frequent visits to project locations. While the country offices are currently based in Port Sudan, these offices will shift to Khartoum as security allows.

Responsibilities:

• Management of finance and accounting functions for the Sudan programme, ensuring appropriate transaction processing, financial liquidity, budget adherence, transparent processes, and compliance with Medair and donor guidelines.

• Provide the technical management to ensure proper logistics practices and procedures (particularly for procurement, supply chain, fleet and asset management) are in place and maintained in compliance with Medair standards.

• Responsible for the HR activities for the Sudan programme, in accordance with Medair policies and Sudan labour laws. Line manage and develop support staff, overseeing recruitment, performance, and training to foster a cohesive, competent team.

• Supervise liaison and administrative activities for the Sudan programme.

• Coordinate with stakeholders, including suppliers, local partners, and government entities, representing Medair and building cooperative relationships.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:

• University degree in a relevant subject such as Management, Finance, Business Administration or Development Studies

• Proficient in English (spoken and written); Arabic language desirable  

• At least 3 years of experience in a management position, as well as experience in a complex humanitarian context

• Strong programme finance, logistics, human resources, analytical, and report writing skills
